The Nebraska Community Blood Bank came to Waverly High School for students and faculty to donate blood to save lives on Monday Jan. 13
Going to school wasn’t just a day to learn but to give 500 mLs, that will eventually saving up to three lives. Waverly FBLA sponsored this event.
“It is awesome to see so many students willing to donate not only their blood but time to help save lives!” FBLA adviser Tara Bohaboj said.
The drive began at nine in the morning and went until two in the afternoon. This year, different from past years, the drive was located on a bus in the north parking lot. Years before it was in the west gym.
Since blood is always in a high demand, Waverly’s FBLA got the chance to to host this event.
“The Nebraska Blood Bank sought our chapter out, as they are always looking for organizations to host a drive,” Bohaboj said.
The next blood drive at Waverly High will take place March hosted by student council. If students and staff wish to donate again, the must contact the counselors or student council members.
