Out of the four Waverly High School FCCLA students sent to the STAR competition, all students qualify for state on Monday.
Seniors Emily Hoss, Nicki Larsen, and sophomores Abriana Campos and Zach Tabor will all move up to compete at a state level.
FCCLA -- also known as Family, Career, & Community Leaders of America -- is a club at the school sponsored by Mallory Gregory. Students compete with their STAR projects in the multiple categories of family and consumer sciences.
The achievement impressed Gregory.
“I couldn't be more proud of these four students. They took the initiative to go above and beyond what is asked of them in school to make an impact in our community, school and their families,” Gregory said.
Hoss competed in Career Investigation and researched athletic training.
Larsen competed in the category of Leadership and completed leadership inventory, along with her leadership weaknesses and skills.
Campos and Tabor competed in Interpersonal Communication and researched effective communication skills.
These students will compete at the state competition in Lincoln on April 6th, 7th and 8th.
