Headlines everywhere reflect the violence that has erupted as of late. Cruelty is nothing new: there has always been and always will be an array of bad people doing bad things, regardless of if they commit crimes with a gun or not.

It just so happens that guns are the most popular weapon in school violence that involve death.

Of all of the news stories that break daily, the ones that stick with the population most are the ones that affect the country’s youth. The beautiful, innocent children who didn’t have a chance to live or to fight for their lives.

That’s more than likely why America remember the Newtown massacre so well, even if it was just over one year ago. Although that was horrific and there’s reason to remember that tragedy, 26 shootings have happened in schools since then (including a Philadelphia school shooting Friday, Jan. 17), which weren’t as recognized on mass media. School violence has obviously grown since Columbine, which happened in 1999, and even just from Newtown to now.
