Sam Noonan signed a letter of intent to Concordia University to play collegiate football Feb. 6 at Waverly High School.
At 11 a.m., Noonan seated himself in Waverly’s media center under the watchful eyes of Concordia head coach Vance Winter, Waverly head coach Mike Johnson and assistant Brian Benson.
Coaches, students and teachers were there to support Sam during the big event.
“I feel good about signing for Concordia,” Sam said. “They offered me a scholarship so I’m ready to go.”
Coach Johnson guesses Noonan will most likely play offensive or defensive line for Concordia.
Senior student athletes at Waverly such as Noonan are signing letters like they are writing ACT answers, adding yet another addition to the promising college athletes of Waverly.
