Teens For Jeans At WHS

Waverly High School is rounding up jeans for homeless teens, a program run through Aeropostale and DoSomething.org.

Any size or design of jeans is accepted -- boy or girl styles. A blue box is sitting outside the office in between two posters for students to drop off their jeans. WHS started collecting jeans around Thanksgiving.

DoSomething.org is a non-profit organization for the youth hoping to bring social change. Aeropostale has teamed up with this organization to raise jeans for homeless teens and label it “Teens for Jeans.”

A Waverly student wanted to bring the event to the high school but wished to remain anonymous.

“The number one thing homeless teens wanted was jeans so I figured why not,” anonymous source said.

Teens for Jeans has collected jeans for homeless teens around the country for several years. Over 12,000 schools across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico are in on the retrieval of jeans -- old and new.

More information about the Teens for Jeans program is available at the office, on Aeropostale.com or DoSomething.org. Aeropostale has many other groups and organizations to help the youth in communities all around. DoSomething.org also follows multiple causes that any one person or group can join in and support around their communities.
