Mid-School Learning Curve

Last Wednesday Waverly High’s library started on a new checkout system called Follett Destiny.
The change was made because the system was outdated.
“The old system no longer had technical support; we had to transfer,” Librarian Kelly Bielenberg said.
The old system was clunky, students forgot their numbers and it was a pain.
Follett Destiny has one major positive students will like.
“The system is by lunch number, it will be easier for kids to remember, because when they forget it’s annoying,” library student assistant senior Chloe Brinson said.
The new system comes with a lot more interactive features allowing students the opportunity to renew books by themselves.
“Students can even write reviews for other students to see,” Bielenberg said.
This particular system will come with a major advantage, it’s a lot more user friendly for Bielenberg, para Toni Kunz and students.
Although Follett Destiny has several advantages, it comes with one disadvantage.
“We have to transfer mid-school year; there will be a learning curve,” Bielenberg said.
Follett Destiny is a great add to the library, although it’s coming at the end of the school year, it’s a great addition for years to come. The new system will officially become available March 31.
