“Non-Stop” is a must see film.
I watched the trailer before going to the theatre, and it made me scared to attend the movie because I thought I had the entire movie figured out.
My thoughts were wrong.
Every aspect of the film was well put together, leaving my mind with a bunch of questions.
If you love suspense-thrillers, and enjoy being confused for about an hour, this movie is for you.
Jaume Collet-Serra, the director of the film, has created a movie that lives up to its name. Every minute of it is engaging. “Non-Stop” does everything it can to keep the plot moving as fast as the plane it is in.
“Non-stop” is a suspense thriller played out at 40,000 feet in the air. During a transatlantic flight from New York City to London, U.S. air marshal, Bill Marks, played by Liam Neeson receives a series of cryptic text messages demanding that he instruct the airline to transfer $150 million into an account. Until he secures the money into an account, the guy behind the text messages claims someone on the airplane will get killed every 20 minutes.
The film is a simple set up making everyone on the plane believe Marks is the one killing everyone.
Mark’s superiors believe he is responsible for hijacking the airplane, so he must prove his own innocence by finding the person responsible. Every passenger is a suspect, guns are drawn, a lot of yelling happens, all followed by a fight between Marks and the guy he thinks is responsible for the text messages. The fight was especially intense. You could tell by the film that agent Marks was a fairly tall guy. Somehow through a series of quick cuts, to grown men have a convincing brawl in the confined space.
“Non-Stop” introduces a variety of different characters to keep the film engaging. A young girl played by Quinn McColgan, got on the plane to go see her father. Having a young girl in this movie made me tear up. After a lot of chaos that began to happen on the plane, I only wanted her to survive.
This action-filled movie kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire film.
“Non-Stop” comes in for a landing with a crash and a bang.
Sit back, turn your brain off and don't think too hard after the credits roll; it will be worth the ten dollars.
