Royals Taking The Throne Of The MLB

With Spring Training baseball wrapping up and opening day coming up fast, baseball teams are holding their breath about how they are going to do this season.
The Kansas City Royals are looking forward to a successful season. After being in the back of the pack for so long, the Royals are ready to pull through and win some games.
A well-known philosophy for baseball is that pitching and defence wins championships: the Royals have both. Even though the Royals did not show their strong pitching and defence during Spring Training, their past seasons and new players are showing what they have.
Spring Training is not just a pre-season: it is a whole different atmosphere. Players interact with the fans; sign autographs, throw balls into the crowd and let loose while playing the sport they love. During this period of time, the best players do not always play every game. Spring Training is a time for Triple A players, the players just below major league players, to show what they can do and try to earn their spot on the team.
The Royals have a few star players: Eric Hosmer, Alex Gordon, Mike Moustakas, James Shields and Yordano Ventura. These players have shown the most skill recently.
Hosmer is a first baseman for the Kansas City Royals. He bats and throws left handed. Hosmer's main strength is batting. He has been known for his timely hitting as well as power hitting.
Gordon is known as one of the best outfielders in baseball. Runners definitely think twice about rounding bases when Gordon is in left field. Gordon has an extremely high number of assists in the outfield. His bat isn’t too shabby either.
Moustakas is an outstanding third baseman. With some extra muscle and meat on his bones, he rarely lets the ball go past him. Being a bigger guy, Moustakas, or “Moose” as the fans call him, smashes the ball every now and then.
James Shields is the Royals’ ace pitcher. He moves the ball around and is able to fool the batters.
Ventura is a rookie pitcher for the Royals. Rumor has it that Ventura may be in the running for Rookie of The Year.
The Kansas City Royals stadium is a perfect suit for them. Their team is built around their defencive abilities. The Royals stadium is large, making teams struggle when it comes to hitting a home run. Having superb pitching and an effective defence, hitting homeruns makes it even harder.
Having spent more money than they ever have this year, the Royals are in for an exciting season. For the first time in years, the Royals have the best opportunity to contend in their division. Even though they are a small market team contending against big teams like the Yankees and Red Socks, Kansas City should be proud and be looking forward to what their team has in store for the upcoming season.
