College Pays

All athletes dream of getting full rides to their favorite colleges. From the University of Nebraska Lincoln to University of Texas and other colleges that recruit, some people think that students who are enrolled to play should be paid.
They shouldn’t be paid with cash, though, because they are paid in other ways. Many starters get scholarships of some kind, whether it is a partial or full ride to play sports for the college. Playing for the schools also giving the student athletes a chance to go into professional sports. From an average of about $1.9 million in the NFL to an average of about $5.15 million in the NBA, students who are deemed good enough to go on in their sport make large sums of money.
Student athletes who aren’t selected for professional sports get a free or mostly free education. They get complementary knowledge and are able to excel in the world in other fields of careers. Paying them may also alter their choice in getting a job in school. This could lead student athletes to bad choices in their free time as well as weaker social skills from working as well as limited job experiences.
Overall, paying student athletes is one unnecessary element to convince them to sign to colleges.
