Hectic NBA Playoffs Sound The Buzzer To 2014 Season

The tumultuous NBA season of 2014 is rapidly approaching its end as the remaining teams battle each other in the playoffs.
Unsurprisingly, the Miami Heat are leading their series of games against the Charlotte Bobcats by a country mile (3-0). The “Big Three” (Lebron James, Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade) have proven just as explosive as ever.
In a recent game, Lebron felt confident enough to stare down Michael Jordan in the stands tauntingly as he dunked the ball. Of course that prompted people to hoot and holler, as is to be expected.
The dynamic Oklahoma City Thunder has its hands full with the Memphis Grizzlies in their 2-2 series. The astounding combo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook on OKC is hard to stand up to, but the Grizzlies have held their own so far.
Another series, this one between the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors, has been a back-and-forth slugfest throughout, and is currently tied 2-2. However, the heavy competition between the two teams isn’t the only reason LA is in the news lately.
As the penultimate games were fought, some controversy arose at the words of the Clippers owner. The man in question, Donald Sterling, was recorded in a rather compromising discussion with his girlfriend, in which he showed some startlingly racist tendencies. Some of the quotes captured include, but are not limited to: “Why are you taking pictures with minorities… why?”, “It’s like talking to an enemy.” and “I’m living in a culture, and I have to live within the culture.”. Whatever that last doozy meant, it surely almost made sense in the mind of the owner of the Clippers.
Although Sterling’s racial insensitivity has left a somewhat bitter taste in the mouth of many as the tournament progresses, the basketball is still just as entertaining as ever.
