School District 145 is going to have a brand-new viking head to lead the look of stationary, apparel, screensavers and wherever else the famous yellow haired fellow has been seen.
Technology Director Lucas Bingham and WMS Assistant Principal Brad McMillan sat in numerous meetings together, collaborating with Athletic Booster Club President Kelli Thompson to choose the new face of Waverly, literally.
The new website will sport the new logo, but the big internet intervention has been put on hold for a while since this project was set into motion.
“I’m excited about it,” McMillan said. “It’ll give Waverly an identity, whenever people seeit they’ll knows it’s ours.”
Approved by the district’s school board on April 7, changes to the Vikes’ viking are already rolling.
“We’ll have consistency, everywhere from letterheads to name badges,” Bingham said.
Look forward to new hoodies and newsletter watermarks this coming fall; Waverly’s Viking is coming out of the Dark Ages.
