Mooers Shows Leadership Through Achievements

It takes a lot for a student to be remembered by their fellow classmates after graduation, and to be considered an “interesting” senior.
And for many of the seniors at Waverly, they are hiding from the limelight and aren't getting the attention they deserve for the astonishing accomplishments they have made over their four brief years.
Senior year for students is about friends and spending your last year making as many memories as possible.
Another big thing that constantly floods the minds of seniors is scholarships. Not only are they very important they quite parent’s nagging.
What many don’t realize is all it takes to get full-ride scholarships plus even more benefits.
Waverly High senior Tyson Mooers will have many major needs of a college student paid for plus more. Mooers received both Walter Scott Jr. Scholarship and the Omaha Regent's scholarship due to outstanding accomplishments.
Mooers will be attending The University of Nebraska-Omaha and plans to major in computer science.
“Video games were a big factor in choosing my major,” Mooers said.
These scholarships combined will cover the costs of room and board, books food laptop tuition and the lovely addition of maid service.
Tyson acquired these scholarships by his outstanding leadership qualities and academic performance at Waverly High.
Throughout Mooers’ high school career he was involved in soccer, theatre, President of National Honor Society, student council, choir and plenty more.
It’s not just a walk in the park to receive such an encouraging scholarship.
“Working hard in school and extracurricular activities are what helped me most toward getting my scholarship,” Mooers said.
Although high school sounds easy, and that it should be many students don’t realize how much hard work can pay off in their futures ahead.
“I’ve very excited where life takes me,” Mooers said.
As for you juniors, take notes and get involved to see where a full-ride scholarship could take you in life.
