As the school year opens, new fashion trends run rampant through the halls and classrooms at WHS.
One of the biggest trends for girls during this summer-fall season are kimonos. Kimono cardigans are flowy cover ups that can be paired with a tank top and jeans or shorts. These are a cute addition to any outfit that needs a pop of color.
The most popular places to get these kimonos are Forever 21, Buckle and PacSun. PacSun has kimonos for around $30, while Forever 21 has some for $20. If you’re looking for something that won’t empty out your wallet, Forever 21 is probably the cheapest option.
Loose-fitting shorts and pants with colorful designs are more and more prevalent as the school days pass. These are perfect pants for those lazy days; you get the comfort of sweats plus the style to stand out.
Forever 21, PacSun, American Eagle and Buckle are the best places to find these comfy shorts and pants. These are supposed to be loose, so don’t get a size that’s too small.
A huge trend for almost every type of guy is khaki pants or shorts paired with Vans. This outfit was sported a lot during the first few days of school. This outfit is the perfect way for boys to look trendy and not have to go through the trouble of dressing up in tie or slacks.
American Eagle and PacSun have a lot of different styles of khaki pants. These pants usually range around $40. Vans can be found at Journeys or any shoe store, priced at around $45.
Facial hair is another growing trend for guys. A chin strap beard is one of the most popular facial hair styles.
Facial hair has more advantages than them looking hip.
“It makes me feel older,” junior Kyle Holton said.
Anybody who wants to look smart this school year should look into these fashions for their back-to-school looks.
