Waverly FBLA attended their annual Leadership Conference in Omaha on Wednesday.
Waverly students learned, alongside many other schools, including Ashland-Greenwood, Wausa and Gretna. The seminar’s purpose was to enlighten the local FBLA member’s about all the steps they can take to improve their club.
“The conference brought me more ideas of activities to engage members of our club,” FBLA president Brianna Sander said, “As well as develop my skills as a chapter officer.”
Each school’s club is considered a “chapter”, and throughout the day, the officers broke into different groups to learn how to better their own chapter.
“All officers now have new ideas and better leadership skills to improve our chapter,” Sander said.
The purpose of the conference is to increase the participation with members and to make each chapter as ideal as possible, as well as attract members and make them want to continue FBLA traditions in the years to come.
“The conference will create and mold leaders,” FBLA Sponsor Tara Bohaboj said. “They learn necessary leadership skills that they can bring back to the chapter.”
With the convention under their belts, hopefully the Waverly FBLA members can use their new skills to enhance FBLA in our district and across the staff.
“This year will help with getting closer to our members and creating bonds and ideas for fundraising,” Vice President Mirza Garcia said.
