FBLA took to Hamlow on Tuesday night for a festival in celebration of the fall season for elementary-age kids, their siblings and their parents.
The children entered the lunchroom and their eyes were immediately saluted with members of FBLA clad in Halloween costumes and tables full of snacks and drinks from end to end. Games were set up at different stations for the kids to participate in.
For all the time FBLA members put into setting up the event, they received just as much enthusiasm from an unexpectedly large amount of children.
“The turnout was really good. We had a lot of helpers, and a lot more kids than we usually have. They all seemed to have fun and it was a good time,” vice president Mirza Garcia said.
Club sponsor Tara Bohaboj shared Garcia’s feelings concerning the prosperous harvest of attendees.
“It looked like the kids had lots of fun, and so did the students,” Bohaboj said. “I just love seeing how happy the kids are when they play the games and win prizes.”
The night was an all-around success; the kids had a great time and the members of FBLA got a little dose of joy in return.
“Seeing a smile on their face makes me happy,” Garcia said.
