On Saturday Nov. 8, rapper Hoodie Allen performed in Omaha, Nebraska at the Sokol Auditorium. Omaha was one of the many stops on the way as he kicked off his new tour and album “People Keep Talking.”

Omaha was the first sold out show of his tour and Lincoln was the first sold out show of his last year’s tour “Crew Cuts” ; Hoodie was not surprised to see the enthusiasm and love from his fans when he stepped on stage.

His songs throughout the night included some from each album he has created. Both fans new to Hoodie and life-long devotees had a song to sing along with.

Since Hoodie Allen is categorized as semi-famous, his fans are like family to him. Throughout the entire night, everyone was extremely friendly- whether that be from liquid courage or the fact that everyone was there for the same reason: they wanted to have a good time.Hoodie Allen’s fans are a tight-knit group of people. Even though he has had millions of views on Youtube of multiple music videos, and has made music with other famous singers like Ed Sheeran, Hoodie doesn’t forget where his roots are, and he shows that through genuinely caring about the audience.

Not to mention at the Omaha concert he proved his great performing skills in many ways. Each year he has sung one of his hit songs “Cake Boy” and he has a few of his band mates throw sheet cakes out into the crowd to make it a little messy. He also takes a blow up raft and crowd surfs through audience members. This year, surprisingly, Hoodie Allen pulled a fan on stage along with his girlfriend and the fan proposed. His girlfriend of three years obviously said, “Yes,” which made the crowd roar with excitement and made the environment even more enjoyable.

By the end of the evening, everyone in the auditorium was still full of life. After hours of sweating and arms bobbing up and down -along with ears ringing from how loud the music was- he saved the best for last as he ended his concert with his most well known song, “No Interruptions”. As the song finished, we were showered with confetti and smoke filled the room as it shot out of cannons on stage. It didn’t die down until everyone left the building, and even then people were running to their cars, shouting for joy and singing his songs with their friends.

Hoodie Allen definitely did not disappoint this year. With his hot new album and his new-and-improved attitude, one could say Hoodie is already famous but continues to raise the bar. As far as his fans go, their numbers keep growing and the family bonds keep getting stronger.
