SoMo Loses His Mojo

Joseph Somers-Morales, also known as SoMo, performed on Nov.10 at the Bourbon Theatre, making girls fall to the floor - literally.
With the Bourbon’s security in the crowd picking up girls left and right, and an ambulance escort for some, SoMo definitely had a drop-dead show.
SoMo is fine, in more ways than one, but his performance skills were not overly amazing.
SoMo performed songs from his latest album, self-titled “SoMo”, on “The Wide Awake Tour” that launched Aug. 4.
Although Lincoln was toward the end of the booked venues listed, the concert was still sold out and many anticipated the night with tickets in hand months before.
The night kicked off at 7:00 with an interesting performance by Francesco Yates, a new artist on his rise to fame with the help of Pharrell Williams. The crowd was filled with excitement with Yates’ interesting (to say the least) performance. Yates had a very amusing personality and portrayed that through his performance.
SoMo followed Yates with his well-known song “Kings and Queens,” which made the crowd roar with commotion.
Although the concert was captivating, there was nothing spectacular about the show.
Yes, SoMo is an attractive man, but the fact he has a nice body shouldn’t be the only reason he is on the rise. SoMo’s music is great but paying for another concert is debatable.
With all the cramming and pushing, maybe the venue is to blame for the not-so-amazing night. To say the least, SoMo is not the best crowd-pleaser except when he lifted his shirt and flexed as many screamed with affection at what their eyes were seeing.
All in all, the twenty dollars was worth the enjoyment of the night, but SoMo didn’t live up to the hype surrounding him.
