Gerald Gillum, otherwise known as G-Eazy, rapped to a sold out show at the Bourbon Theatre on Jan. 6.

An incredibly forgettable first opener attempted to get the crowd going but hopelessly failed. He chanted unintelligible phrases at the crowd for an extended period of time.

Up-and-coming artist Kehlani opened second, making up for the first attempt easily. Despite openers often being generic, Kehlani managed to capture the crowds’ attention and get them buzzing. Her new mixtape titled ‘Cloud 19’ is coming out soon.

Following Kehlani, Jay Ant was disappointing despite the audience's expectations from his feature in a song with G-Eazy, ‘Far Alone’.

After much anticipation from the crowded audience, G-Eazy burst on to the stage rapping a new song while silhouetted against a blinding white screen.

The performance was full of high energy. G-Eazy kept the crowd on their toes between rapping new songs and bringing up old favorites that made the audience go crazy. There was never a boring moment in the performance, keeping the audience hooked. When the concert came to a close, the chatter of the audience was all about their well-exceeded expectations.

G-Eazy recently came out with three new songs, titled ‘Why Thank You’, ‘I Might’ and ‘Show You The World’. The songs fit his typical sound with some new twists that are sure to make these some of his best ones yet.

G-Eazy is quickly becoming one of the best upcoming artists because of performances like this.

“From the Bay to the universe” is one of G-Eazy’s most famous quotes and was chanted multiple songs throughout the concert. G-Eazy used his roots from the Bay Area to come up with the slogan.

If he continues to put on performances the way he did, he will be sure to rise to the top all the way from the Bay.
