A Slice Above The Rest

Slice Pizzeria, housed at 4811 NW 1st Street in Lincoln, is a new business in the Lincoln area. Their pizza offers the basics but also the option for those who want to build their own using different ingredients. The dining experience was better than most chain pizzerias, but far from gourmet.

The area in which the restaurant is located was slightly difficult to find; it was tucked into a corner in a residential area. However, that aspect made the establishment feel more homey and inviting.

The ambience of the restaurant was low-key and quiet. Most of the orders were for take out rather than sit down.

The ovens and the rest of the kitchen were visible from the sitting area, showing that things wear sanitary. The sitting area had clean booths and tables, further proving the point.

The dining room had a retro, 1950s vibe to it. All of the booths, as well as the tables and chairs, looked like they came out of a vintage soda shop. The dining area is not incredibly large, but still big enough to hold the amount of customers the restaurant would regularly host.

The service was relatively fast, even when specialty pizza was ordered. The waiter was friendly and was constantly checking to see how the food was or to refill glasses.

The menu was typical of pizza place, although there were a few different items such as s'mores pizza and a couple specialty items.

The s’mores pizza had a normal pizza crust, but the main topping was melted marshmallows, finished off with partially melted chocolate chips.

The margarita pizza was topped with basil, mozzarella and tomatoes. What really set it apart from other restaurant’s margarita pizza was the balsamic glaze drizzled on the top, adding an authentic feel to the pizza.

The food was moderately priced for a pizza restaurant, but not so much that the pizza was not worth the money, especially considering the higher quality of the pizza.

People who are looking for a different type of pizza on a small budget, Slice Pizzeria is the perfect spot to find a piece that is a slice above the rest.
