Senior Snags State Officer Title
Senior Trevor Spath was named a state FFA officer continuing a tradition of excellence in FFA being the second officer in the past two years.
In order to get this position, state FFA secretary, Spath needed to have a devotion to FFA that he has always had.
“He’s always had a passion for agriculture and is really good at leading people,” senior Shelby Blake said. “This position will fit him perfectly.”
After working for this position since his freshman year, Spath finally snagged his secretary position.
“My duties include traveling the state to meet with FFA members and business leaders,” Spath said.
Responsibilities and extraordinary chances are a huge part of this big role.
“I will have the opportunity to facilitate workshops for members and to travel the country to see FFA across the nation,” Spath said.
Spath has his fellow FFA members to help him out and support him.
“I think Trevor will be able to handle this role really well,” Blake said.
To prepare for interviewing, Spath put a lot of personal time into getting ready.
“For the interview process, I studied some current agriculture issues and practiced my interview skills. I was glad that the interview process was over when it was because it was very stressful,” Spath said.
When Spath received the award, it seemed as though nothing could phase him.
“It was such an exciting feeling to have my name read. My adrenaline was pumping and it was a lot of fun,” Spath said.
With this new role, Spath will be high up in the FFA world. Spath will continue to serve this position and represent Waverly until the new officers are named in the spring of 2016.
